Carhauling is a CRAFT, a real skill ,with time allows you the honor to be called an professional. The change that has come about is that I've been placed with idiots that call themselves carhaulers, dispatchers and managers......call em wanna-bees; now the wanna-bee carhauler will be told by dispatch," Hey(you know what hey is the 1st stage of ;) I got a deal for you!" mean while back on the ranch the manger shakes wanna-bee carhaulers hand with his/her left hand, cause wanna-bee dispatcher is sending wanna-bee carhauler where wanna-bee manger wants wanna-bee carhauler to be. Wanna-bees' are just as content as a pig in slop, wanna bee carhauler on his merry way,has no clue, with out even asking what the load paid, what type of units is on the load, and it goes on and on. The blind leading the blind.(PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT PARK UR RIG BEFORE DUSK IF YOU DON'T YOU MIGHT GO BUST---ED FER UR LIFE SAVINGS!) I know I'M NOT BY MYSELF IN THIS ONE. This is a change that still has me scratching my head wtf. Walking on egg shells.... With that said, if you know how to avoid the obstacles in this gambit of change in the carhauling industry you'll be ight.lol

I was terminated from this company April 23, 1992 for "poor work performance" after 13 years of dedicated service. I received good reviews on my yearly evaluations. Go figure. This is a "good 'ol boy" company that likes to hire friends and family members and place them in positions that they DON'T qualify for. I got the last laugh. After this company tried to deny me my unemployment benefits (that I had contributed towards for 13 years) I appealed and WON! I went on to draw my benefits for TWO YEARS while working part time as an assistant at my children's school.

I am Currently laid off from a Union co. In last 16 months i have been laid off 7 1/2 months. I have a family to feed and cant afford being laid off that much. yes the bennefits for a Union Co. is nice but the look of disapointment on my kids face that i cant buy them birthday presents or new clothes and shoes is not worth it. All the top senority guys have forgotten where they came from and always talk about sticking together well their greedy butts wont turn down extra loads and sat work so all of us that is laid off can come back. I love hauling cars and just want to provide for my family but i cant do so sitting at home.

The union is only good once you get some seniority, and these days who has the time to be laid off for three or four months a year while waiting for someone above them to retire? My husband went to work for Allied in 2004. It was his 1st union job, ans seemed great at first, but then came the layoffs--no money and no health insurance. Next to YRC, same union, different local, no one retiring above him, no seniority, long layoffs. Then to another union carrier that we won't name because he is technically still employed there, but laid off. Unions may have a purpose, but I wish my husband could go back to being a non union driver. At USF Dugan, when he was non union, there were no layoffs and the pay was just as good as at the union companies, but they went out of business and what remains of USF is union. Non union companies that pay well won't touch mu husband due to the way some union drivers abuse the system filing grievances to cover their own lazy butts. He's trying Hansen/Adkins--non-union. Maybe he will get to work. I sure hope so. You guys who love the union maybe forget about the guy who is low seniority on the board and gets laid off all the time. It's hard on a family, you know. So don't knock the ones who want to be non-union.

Terry...6 units,..Load the tractor just like you have it....Back of cab empty...This will get both units under 13'6''...Load 2 of your extended cabs on trailer...Drive the first one...Extend the front slide out ...You want this truck far enough ahead so it barely misses the one on tractor..( allow for a dip when turning )..Back the rear truck on..use the second of the extended cabs...Leave 3 or 4 inches between the rear bumpers on thes trucks because it will come down in a ( V ) just like in your picture..Bottom of trailer....Back the last crew cab in the nose....get it as far forward as possible and still turn....Hang the last extended cab off the rear of the trailer...This configuration on that rig with the lo profile wheels and tires will get you about 13'6'' on the rear of the trailer...When hauling out of Fort Wayne west or south ...That load would be legal except for Iowa ( overhang )....Hang in there...... When Cooper got the first flat tops back in 1989...that load was scary....but I worked the city for years ( 5000--6000 units per year )and learned how to load that load in less than an hour...and so will you
