Pictures have become so cheap and easy in our digital age that there is really no reason why you can't take them of everything and then just delete the ones you don't need. According to overdriveonline.com, Marc Pogrebneak credits his pictures of his loaded car hauler with saving his job. After the decks lowered onto the cars below in transit his employer assumed he had forgotten to pin the decks when he loaded, causing serious damage to two of the vehicles on the bottom deck.

ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A BROKER !!
As far as being a company driver goes … it's always easiest to start the blame game at the bottom and work your way up.
Pictures …. I've taken quite a few …. especially being a night driver with most of my loads delivered 'subject to inspection'.

Yeah, it is good to take pictures so that in-case you were asked about supporting documents
then you can show them what you got :)
PS: it really helps to double-check everything first to avoid accidents though.

What are the odds of a prankster knowing how to raise the decks enough to get the pins released?
What if the driver simply failed to bring the decks to rest against the pins and they fell out in transit?
In my opinion the results would be the same and the odds are in favor of the later scenario.

Yeah, those non-spring pins suck .. I never liked them. I've always been a creature of habbitt and always bring my decks down to rest on the pins. I can totally see someone who uses non-spring pins losing some on the road. As far as a prankster goes, if the decks aren't set on the pins, obviously no problem to pull the pins. I'd call this more like 'getting even' for something then a prank. If the decks ARE set on the pins, obviously someone would have to start the pump or the electrical system to raise the decks and remove the pins. This would CLEARLY be malicious destruction of property.
