This is off of TDU.org
March 10, 2011: Allied Automotive Group management informed the International Union yesterday morning that they would unilaterally break the Teamster national carhaul contract by cutting pay 20% across the board. The cut supposedly will hit paychecks issued tomorrow.
UPDATE: March 15, 2011
IBT Calls Strike at Allied for Thursday
March 16, 2011: The International Union has called for a strike to shut down the U.S. operations of Allied Automotive Group unless the company agrees before then to pay the full contract wage.
The strike is called for 6 a.m. Eastern Time. Drivers out on the road at that time are asked to go ahead and make their deliveries, and then return to their home yard to park their truck.

Allied has been notorious for actions such as this since buying the Ryder group and Motor Convoy and Auto Convoy here in Texas…Poor management and horrible equipment were their demise in the Lone Star state…Hadley moved in to some of their facilities here and it was more of the same… As a Cooper driver ..I hauled out of plants that Allied did ….Ft. Wayne…Janesville.. Pontiac East..Boling Green.Spring Hill….Smyrna.etc.. and as the years went by….they let the equipment and the traffic go to hell…Poor Management and raping of the profits by said management has destroyed what should have been a strong company……Cooper's downfall was caused by the economy……….Allied was already in bad shape when the economy went south…They run junk and if they had invested the savings from the last concessions into new equipment the drivers might have a little sympathy………..but this will probably force them to shut the doors

It is almost as if they want it to happen?? When you make pay cuts
retro-active you know there will be a strong response. The question is
why?

On 3/16/2011 at noon the Teamsters carhaul division has a conference call to let us know if allied guaranteed to return the 20% pay cut they imposed last week. If it is not returned we are scheduled to strike at 6am Thursday 3/17/2011.
This is a really strange situation that the company has put us in. They have not released a statement, sent us a propaganda letter, or even put a note in with our checks like they have in the past. When you ask the management about it they seem like they are less informed than the Teamsters drivers. This is similar to the way former PTS drivers were treated, and the way they closed that company.
I would like to ask all carhaulers not cross Teamsters picket lines. You have nothing to gain from it besides a load, your company will never gain control of the freight. They will be putting you in a awkward situation that you will not gain from. They will be using you to do their dirty work and when its all over you will be left out. All you can do is reduce rates and benefits for all carhaulers union and non union.

Its official, Allied teamsters strike starts Thursday march 17th at 6:00 am eastern time. I would like to inform all companies that haul vehicles for Axis witch is owned by Allied systems. Any loads you haul for them you may never be paid for, it is rumored that the entire company is headed for chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Its sad that they pulled that . If i remember correctly were the AAg drivers the one whom just got back to full scale last summer? Have faith never had a axis load on one of ours never will . Good luck hope they get there pay restored but have a sad feeling this will be the blow that locks the gates they gave away ft wayne come on that was one of the more volume terminals I thought.
