The Montoursville fire dept got a call to respond to an apparent axle fire on a car hauler. car carrier fire caught in timeWhen they arrived the driver already had the two cars over the trailer axes off loaded allowing the fire dept to put the fire out. This driver is a true professional! His actions, along with the quick response from the Fire Dept. helped save his rig and his cargo. I hope his company realizes what an asset he is.

I'm thinking that it might have been a bit warm trying to get the chains off of that back car!

Maybe it was strapped. It looks like a charger. Maybe he/she let the straps burn thru ??. But banker is correct. Kudos to the driver for doing a bang up job.

Sad to say, I wouldn`t be suprised. Actually, what would REALLY suprise me was if someone replied here that it WASN`T a Meritor issue for a change !! Just a plain old brake fire, non-Meritor, related would be kinda nice for a change.

I love the ironery in that name: Meritor. I find NOTHING `meritous`about their `low maint.`, oil-less hubs. Frankly, I think they`re sh1t. And that`s from experience. Myself included, I know FAR to many people negatively affected by this crappy product and all it`s recalls.

Pheew – Good thing they don`t sponsor this site. I`d be outa work !! Surprised
