I have heard that many of the companies that used to haul repos and lease returns to the Manhiem auctions have been getting requests for bids on their old routes. It could mean that the auction is checking to see if they can get it done cheaper than UPS or it could mean they are getting ready to give them the boot. Having UPS take over the management of this part of the auction freight sure seemed detrimental to the industry. I expected UPS to bring efficiency to the system but instead all I saw was them brokering out the freight for rates that were way too low!
